I successfully started and ran my own small business for 20 years providing internet services focused on the environmental industry. The company grew from three founders to over 40 full time employees located in 10 regional offices nationwide. My primary responsibilities included sales and marketing, strategic management and financial accounting. However, I also participated in all other aspects of running a small business such as human resources, federal, state and local taxes, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank financing, trade show participation and new product development. Prior to starting my own company, I worked for several small startup companies in the manufacturing and real estate appraisal industries as well as several large companies in the financial services and chemical process products industries. My responsibilities at these companies were primarily focused on sales and marketing as well forecasting and budgeting. Using my past successes and business experiences as a guide I can help SCORE clients navigate the various challenges they will face when starting and managing a new business.
